‘Fundamental Elements’ 6th - 22nd June 2023
I have been busy in the studio creating new paintings on canvas for this exciting exhibition alongside papier mache artist Gill Hacket.
‘Albert Einstein said ‘Everything in this world is a form of energy.’
All things in the universe are continuously vibrating with their own frequencies. These frequencies exist in nature, space and inside our bodies. Everything vibrates at its own frequency and resonance is the rate at which things vibrate.
Sound frequencies move matter into patterns as waveforms. Cymatics is the science of visualising audio frequencies. It explores how sound and matter merge to make the fields of sound, geometry, light and mathematics become one.
This collection of work is based upon my intuitive interpretation of energetic frequencies. The formations visually embody this sense of universal vibration which can remind us to slow down and listen. In our busy, fast-paced lives we do not often think about our own unique energetic frequencies and how they affect us.
My paintings are meditative and contemplative objects that I hope will help create this sense of alignment in the viewer. Whilst looking at these paintings remind yourself that we are all energy. How we treat ourselves reflects how we create our own energy and our outer experience reflects our inner state. Still your mind and take a moment of contemplation to bring yourself back to your true energetic state.’
